Red among blooms – nude

This is a quick pencil and marker sketch that I’m possibly going to paint in the future. I haven’t had a lot of time for my art but I’m hoping you stick around and not give up on me. I believe when I go to paint this painting it will be in grays or black Β and bright reds only. Let me know what you think and your opinions. Β Thanks, and keep visiting!

You have so many different styles. I LOVE it. I think the greys and bright red is stunning. Love the idea of the tuplips and red hair.

  2. I think it will work really well. I like what you have, here, already. This is hauntingly like a book I read titled “Rose Madder”. That was also the lead character’s name and I think she had red hair. Anyway…reminds me of that book.

    • This was from a photo on the web, so I’m not sure where it comes from, but I really like it. I would love to take my own photos and hopefully a camera from my wife is soon to come (hint, hint if she’s reading this), but how to approach a model to pose nude in a field of flowers, without looking like a perverted old man, and not get the camera slammed over my head by my wife… I better stick to photos from the web! LOL

    • Thank you Karen,
I’m thinking of using a long and narrow canvas, like 3 or 4 foot long and half that in height. We’ll see!

This already look so nice to me. If it’s any larger i guess the lady will look very much sexier, i already know you have good hands especially come to drawing figure. Can’t wait to see the actual size. By the way i’m not really a pervert..hahaha..just joking.

    • Thank you, the reds are a little more brighter on the monitor than they are in the painting, but I’m really liking the gray and red theme.

  14. Those red flowers are spectacular, as is your figure with her red hair. Would love to see this as a painting, but I think you’ve really captured a wonderful image here.

  15. I would LOVE to have this hanging on my wall. Just as it is now. What wonderful talent you have !

    April 30, 2010 at 5:58 pm

    • Thank you so much for the compliment. It’s always exciting to know someone would hang or enjoy my art. This one is only a 4 x 8 inch sketch, the painting is going to be about 2 x 4 feet. I hope to start on it soon, but others must be finished first. Thank you again for your kindness!
