Lazy River-Getting HIP-PO-tized

Your getting sleepy… sleepy.  Just follow the blog, back and forth, back and forth.  Your getting sleepier, sleepier… now let yourself fade into a deep sleep.  Now, that your mind is mine… you will like All of Ryan’s artwork, All of it.  Now, when I snap my fingers, you will awaken in amazement, in all that he does.  SNAP! you’ve been Hip-po-tized!

  2. When I wake up I’m gonna tell you that this is AMAZING!
I love the granulation of colors and I love how you captured the head coming out of the water. Really terrific. I really envy your talent.

Now wake me up from this deep sleep!

    • Thanks Carol,
You are not really under a spell, I just bore people to sleep… ask my wife, she falls asleep every night on the couch, 2 minutes after sitting down. Oh Well, what’s a guy to do?

Oh no, I’m Hippotized!! Haha, I love it. I love how the water is blank, white, but the suggestion of it with the reflection of the hippo’s color, makes it so obvious that the water is there. So cool.

    • Thank you!
I decided to leave the water white, it had more of a graphic feel to it. I am going to do one more in this style to make a set. Maybe an elephant because of the same skin textures.

  5. You are too funny! I don’t have to be hypnotized to love your paintings, Ryan! This is amazing, the way you left the water unspoken. It’s Awesome and I mean that with a capital A!

Don’t be too hard on your wife. You don’t bore her. TV makes me fall asleep, too. We just work so hard all day that when we stop, we can’t stay awake. 🙂

  6. Ryan, Wake me up! I liked your work before. 🙂 These are so colorful. Just love them. I like how you are leaving areas of the paper white. Really like the hint of whiskers on the hippo’s snout and the colors work really well.

The hippo does look sleepy and the more i look at it the more sleepy i am. I love the colours and the tone you use, very refresing. Nice painting Ryan.
